Md Halim Mondol is an AI and machine learning researcher, software engineer, and Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Engineering at North Carolina State University. He currently works as a Software Engineering Intern at Collaboration Pharmaceuticals and as a Research Assistant in the Active Robotic Sensing (ARoS) Laboratory under Prof. Edgar Lobaton. His work focuses on building practical intelligent systems with large language models, vision-language models, knowledge graphs, graph neural networks, generative AI, and scientific machine learning, with applications spanning drug repurposing, cheminformatics, and engineering research.
Originally from Meherpur, Bangladesh, Mondol earned his B.Sc. in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology in 2021 and his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from NC State in 2024. His background in power electronics—including multilevel and transformerless inverters, converter control, and renewable-energy systems—brings a cross-disciplinary engineering perspective to his AI work. He is a U.S. Permanent Resident authorized to work in the United States.
